Anthony Wright was born in Melbourne, Australia (30/11/62) and received degrees in media studies and education from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and the University of Melbourne, respectively.

 

He labored in a number of blue collar jobs (also the public service) before commencing travels through 20 countries. He settled in Mexico in 1992 and began working as a journalist, first as a copy editor, then arts and travel reporter, then arts section editor, for the English language dailies Mexico City News and Mexico City Times. He was also a stringer for The Hollywood Reporter and an editor at Notimex.

 

Wright has published articles, short fiction and photography in 20 publications (journals, magazines, newspapers) and web sites in Australia, Canada, England, Mexico and the United States. He is also an artist (painter) and has participated in several exhibits in Australia, Mexico and the United States.

 

After returning to Melbourne in 2002, Wright began work as a teacher and continued in that field upon returning to Mexico in 2008. He published his first novel, a trade paperback called Infernal Drums, in 2011 and published a short story collection called Smoke Ghosts & Other Outré Tales in 2014 (Moon Willow Press).

 

He is married with two children.
